Beautiful 5 days Italian Riviera tour with departure and arrival in Marseilles, exploring the fantastic scenery of the area of the French and Italian Riviera.
The scenery and ambience is very good and the weather is usually mild.
After collecting the car at the airport of Marseille head out along the coastal motorway to Santa Margarita Ligure in Italy where you can stay in one of the great boutique hotels recommended by bananatrips.
This is a spectacular road where, after entering Italy, you have to go through numerous tunnels dug in the cliffs by the sea, a remarkable civil engineering feat.
Santa Margarita Ligure is located about 400 km from Marseille and is the farthest point in this circuit. It is right next to Portofino and is a great base for exploring the area of Portofino and Cinque Terre. The ideal time is to stay here 2 or 3 nights.
Next destination is Nice where you can get after going through Monaco. We do not advise staying in Monaco since the hotels are very expensive, and Nice has great hotels moderately priced. Nice is only 20 kms from Monaco.
Here we suggest a stay of 1 or 2 nights. (1 night should be enough)
The next destination is Marseilles. After passing through Cannes and St. Tropez on a beautiful route along the coast, you can stay here one night and visit the city the next day, before returning to the airport late afternoon.
