BEST TIME TO VISIT
Costa Rica is perfect to visit any time of the year, being comfortably warm in the highlands and hot along the coasts. The dry season goes from December until April being therefore the best time to visit the country.
HOW TO GET THERE
Juan Santamaría Airport is located close to the cities of Alajuela, Heredia and the capital San José.
To the cities you can take a bus or a taxi. A taxi to San Jose city centre costs $10.
Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport is near Liberia in the Guanacaste province, very close to the Pacific Northwest coast.
TRAVELLING AROUND
Renting a car (4WD) is probably the best way to get around and explore Costa Rica.
Most of the principal destinations in Costa Rica are served by daily buses from and to San Jose. Another simple way to get around Costa Rica is to use the services of mini-vans. The drivers know the roads well and the vans are clean and comfortable.
